Hi, I'm Dese. The girl behind elumaro.

Elumaro. (aka El.) was born out of frustration and necessity.

About two months before my college graduation, I stood in front of my mirror, frustrated. I wanted a dress that represented my Nigerian heritage, something elegant and modern, but every option I found was either too expensive, outdated, or inaccessible. Determined to find a solution, I designed a dress myself, called my mother in Nigeria, and asked her to find a tailor to create it.

Three weeks, multiple WhatsApp messages, and one friend traveling from Nigeria later, my dress finally arrived. It was stunning—but it shouldn’t have been that hard.

So, I'm building Elumaro—a brand that reimagines African fabrics for modern wardrobes. We blend heritage textiles with contemporary silhouettes, making it effortless to wear your culture without breaking the bank.

More than fashion, I want Elumaro to be a movement—a bridge between the diaspora and the continent, ensuring that artisans are empowered, craftsmanship is preserved, and African fashion carves its place on the global stage.

Won't you come along for the journey?
